A Restful Day

"Rest & self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You can not serve from an empty vessel."

Today was almost a "day off" for me! Liam is off school & Zach is off work. Only had to get Arlee to work by 9am...which means I was able to "sleep in". When my alarm went off, I could definitely tell, it was STILL too early!

When I arrived back home, I made myself a cup of my favorite (at the moment) tea to enjoy while finishing up a Podcast I had started in the car.

After the Podcast ended & I sat my empty mug on the bedside table...I knew what was coming next! The bedroom window was open, so the room was that nice Autumn morning chill. Perfect to be snuggled under a warm blanket, and next to a fuzzy puppy!

Pressing my head into the soft pillow, and pulling the blankets over my shoulders...sleep came quick. It was most needed, for sure. When I awoke later, I felt rested! Which, sometimes can feel like a very rare commodity.

I lay there, just enjoying that feeling of being awake. This does NOT happen often for me...so when it does, I do try my best to be mindful of it, and soak it all in.

Wouldn't have minded laying there for hours, really, if I'm being honest… but, Clementine, our puppy, decided it was time for her to start her day! She does this by giving whoever is in bed with her a good face washing! Could there be any way better to start your day than to have a dog's tongue right up your nose? (I do hope my sarcasm is obvious there!)

Sending Love & Light to YOU!!
